Even though it is no longer on air, LOST is still my all time favorite TV show. I own all the DVD’s and recently have started to re-watch all of the seasons. LOST is simply one of those shows I will never tire of, and I’m so disappointed it’s over. While I love this story, and stories like it where a plane crashes on an island and everyone must learn to survive, I personally don’t feel a need to experience the first part. I constantly wish I was on that island, surviving and dealing with the unknown and crazy things that constantly happen, but the crash itself is something I wouldn’t want to participate in. So when it comes to airplane construction, everything needs to be done perfect. I don’t want to experience a malfunction when I’m 20-40,000 feet in the air. Luckily, airlines don’t want to worry about malfunctions either, so the plane is equipped with the best supplies. This includes the heavy wiring they have done.

Aircraft cables are used in a wide range of functions on and around aircraft. They have to be strong and reliable to ensure that nothing goes wrong. The cables are perfect for adjusting the seat backs, controlling the movement to the wings and landing gear with the planes analog flight control systems. They are often employed for such uses as tie-downs, stabilizers, safety fasteners and various other purposes on the aircraft. Meanwhile outside, they may be used as rope swings to lift jet engines or wings. There are two different types of aircraft cable that are commonly used. These are stainless steel or galvanized steel cables. Stainless steel is popular because it tends to be able to last the longest under harsh conditions. Both cables are strong and have high corrosion resistance. Making use of strong, durable cables such as these help make flying a little easier and helps the passengers feel safe on their way to new destinations.
